Black Bart River Current Bed
There is a sense that this piece was uncovered rather than built. The form moves in a continuous sweep, bending and shifting with a natural cadence that feels guided by time itself. Edges are softened, lines are released, and the structure follows a path that resists anything rigid or expected. Katherine’s work in the field is evident in the restraint. Knowing where to stop becomes the defining act. The material leads, and the design listens. Waking here feels unhurried. The day does not begin abruptly. It arrives gradually, giving space to ease into it rather than step into it. It changes the energy of the room. Not by holding it still, but by allowing it to move.
