5 Elements of Feng Shui Design

Decorating & Interior Design

14 Sep

For a calming vibe in your home, use the practiced art of Feng Shui to revitalize your home.

Our Tips for a Zen Space

1. LAYOUT

Seating in any space should feel natural and work well together. The space should also feel comfortable enough to promote conversation. We start by anchoring the sofa against a wall then adding pieces around this center focus.

2. COLOR

If you’re aiming for a feng shui space, saturated and bright colors will invite an invigorating living area; glowing yellow, bright green, amber brown – all will do.

3. LIGHT

Natural lighting will add energy to the space. Sheer or linen curtains will work best to let more sunlight in. However, if natural lighting isn’t an option, go for floor and table lamps that spread light far across the room.

4. SHAPES

A mixture of furniture shapes will keep the flow moving. Feng shui design believes this variety creates balance. Pair a round coffee table or end table with a square sofa and vice versa.

5. ACCESSORIES

Feng shui is all about harmony in your space; you cannot feel stress-free if your clutter is staring you in the face. Pare down your décor to the essentials if you want a relaxing, simplistic space.
