Katherine cultivates character interiors by layering textures and patterns. It’s not a cookie-cutter room when she’s on the job! Here are some of her key tips on how you can layer textures to do the same.

	TEXTURE DOESN’T ALWAYS MEAN COLOR Just because you prefer a neutral color palette doesn’t mean you have to have boring interiors. In fact, a neutral colored room is the perfect place to add dimension. Unexpected textures make a room more engaging—like the back of the chair being tufted rather than the typical interior.
	PLAY WITH MATERIALS Like a rolex watch, mixing metals is encouraged. Statement pieces are essential to creating a WOW factor. Simple, honest elements are timeless.
	ADD A NEW LAYER FOR AN EASY UPDATE Not ready to redo an entire room? No problem. Instantly update the feel of your room by artfully draping a patterned throw over an existing piece. By adding luxury pillows, the new layer will effortless add depth.
	USE A VARIETY OF FABRICS Sometimes it’s the fabric that has all the attraction. The warm layers create a feeling of welcome and invite you to cuddle up and relax.
	UNIQUE ACCESSORIES CUSTOMIZE A LOOK Unique accessories play an important role in building a luxurious room with dimension. By mixing a few once-in-a-lifetime items you’ve collected over the years, you can create a spectacular space.
