When one is searching for a desk, it comes down to one thing. Well two, actually. First, are you mentally or visually organized? If you are mentally organized you can use file drawers because you will remember what is in them. If you are visually organized — you have to see it to remember it, so it has to stay on a working surface. Some lucky folks have been able to cross over and have both systems work for them. Second, if you are a CEO or a VIP and you want a desk with gravitas to signal to whomever comes into the room that you are the head honcho, then go all the way and get the big desk. The office desk by virtue of the laptop has morphed into a less traditional office desk look.
